I'm sure you've heard of babies walking before they crawl, but have you seen a baby drive before they walk?

Supersize me

When we go shopping at Costco, we go in for one thing, but end up buying all this stuff that we really don't need in bulk. Go in for diapers, end up buying groceries that will last a month, but will surely spoil before the month is over....gotta love Costco.

Best Friends

Today, Kristin had a little surprise visit from Hari. As you know, Hari is Kristin's best buddy from school, but will be attending her 1st day at a new school tomorrow. Kristin misses playing with her at school so she was pleasantly surprised when she showed up at our place for a play date. It was so funny watching them play together. Of course neither of them wanted to stand still for a picture.



They found enjoyment out of the most simple things, like exchanging oranges in the backyard.

Red Balloon

Today cousin Lindsay came over and we headed to the Art and Wind festival in San Ramon. I'll be updating with pics sometime later this week. I'm still pooped from shooting yesterdays wedding in Concord/San Ramon/Sunol.

Teething

Kayla has been teething for quite some time now, and I finally caught a shot of her first tooth. It's so funny, seeing that one little tooth pop out.

She's not happy about it I bet.

Or maybe she is, since she enjoys chomping on her hands so much.

Farmer Dress

Everyday after her bath, she always says "I want to wear a dress". Today she wore her farmer dress.

Kayla doesn't have any dresses.

What's cookin?

Kayla started saying 'uh-oh' yesterday. I guess that would be her 'first' word.....but she's been saying 'mum mum' for food for quite some time already.

Watermelon

Kayla loves watermelon, just like her big sister did when she was a baby.

Now all big sis likes is chips, cookies, and ice cream.

Curious K

Kayla is getting to be so active now. She wants to crawl all over the place, and everything has to explored.

Kristin is too funny. While we were driving to go have dinner, I asked her what Kayla was doing in the back. Her reply, "She's just chilling."

Accident

Kristin had an 'accident' at school today. Time to do the laundry.

Number one fan

Kristin loves to dance and sing, and now she has a fan who absolutely adores her.

She puts on an extra special performance just for Kayla.

Someday they'll be dancing together. But for now, Kayla is perfectly content with sitting and crawling.

Cheeks

I love Kayla's cheeks, they're like 2 big cha-siu bows. Speaking of eating, every night during dinner, she's like a hungry dog begging for food or drink from us. "EH! EH! EH!" usually means 'give me some of that food/drink'.

100% MEANDO

Another funny shirt from grandma. This one says "100% MEANDO." Where do they come up with this stuff?

Kayla is already wearing Kristin's clothes, this shirt is a 2T.

Time for lockdown

Kayla is getting her hands on everything now. Today she went in Selina's closet and pulled out this purse. Time to childproof the house again.....



Kristin needs a haircut, it's getting out of control.

9 months old / Mothers day

Kayla turns 9 months old today. Can't believe in 3 more months she'll be a year old. Time just flies when you're having fun....or is it the lack of sleep that makes it seem like time goes by so fast?


We visited my mom today, and it's a very rare occasion that both K's aren't sick.

Strawberry ShortKayla

Kayla had her 9 month check up today.

18lbs 4.8oz
2 feet 4 inches

She's got a big head, 95th percentile.

Crawling

Kayla started crawling yesterday, it was the cutest thing. Kristin never crawled so this was a first for me. Now Kayla never wants to sit still anymore.

Same Same

I remember when Kristin started pre-school, she would always come home and go "same same, same same." Selina and I would scratch our heads thinking, same same? Finally, one day when Selina dropped her off, they were having circle time. The teacher held up 2 of the same items and said "Same Same."

I now present to you same same color.

Cat in the Hat

I must be boring, or Kristin was extremely tired. I read a story to her every night before she goes to bed, and she usually is really attentive. Today was the first time EVER that she actually fell asleep while I was reading it.



I wish Kayla was that easy to put to bed.

Constipation

Poor Kayla. She loves eating solid foods so much, and now she's having a hard time pooping. Today it was so bad that she spit up some of her milk trying to poop.

If Kayla could talk

If Kayla could talk, I bet she'd always be saying "give me more food!" She's going to make us broke at the rate she's eating.

Itsy-bitsy spider

Kristin is always bringing home arts and crafts from school. This week, she brought home this 7 legged paper spider. Kayla was fascinated by it.

Style

Grandma sent some clothes from Hong Kong a week back. One of them was this shirt. The shirts with text always crack me up. This one says "Style". lol

I don't know why, but Kristin still has negative feelings towards Kayla. I hope it doesn't last too long......
