Sounds weird right? That's what the principal told us when talking about the kindergarten class of 2012. Can't believe Kayla is in 'real' school now. Only 12 more years to go after this year. She actually was pretty nonchalant about the whole thing. Woke her up at 7 am, she rolled around a little bit.
Picked out her outfit for the day.
"Pink goes with pink right?"
Brushed her pearly whites.
Ate a breakfast of cereal bar and boxed milk. We didn't have time to grocery shop after returning from our trip, and our shelves/refrigerator were bare to the bone.
Walked big sis to her 3rd grade class.
Walked back home since her class didn't start until 9 AM, which was actually 10 AM. We didn't get the memo.
Went with mom and dad to get some coffee.
Went back to school.
Enjoyed a bit of sun before class.
Big kid now.
Teacher spelled her name wrong, had to cross out the 'e' and turn it into an 'a'.
They had a bunch of activities for the kids, kind of like a scavenger hunt of sorts.
Getting her mug shot. This is what happens when you tell her to say CHEEEEEESE.
Oh NO! Looks like she has got the wandering eyes at an early age.
After spending 45 minutes with her in class, it was time to say bye. She said bye with no drama. Like a boss.
What a fun series ;) My little one started K this year too. I hadn't thought about her graduation year.... that's just crazy! My kids are never going to believe I graduated when it was still the 1900's :)
ReplyDeleteawesome pictures as usual :) but I'm just baffled at a teacher that would hand over Sharpies to kindergarteners? If you hand that to my kiddo all the classmates would end up with mustaches a la Salvador Dali haha
ReplyDeleteAdorable, as always. Love that she was dancing into the car to Last Friday Night. & the wandering eye bit, cute!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! Great that you got to spend a good amount of time in the classroom.
ReplyDeleteAww, that is so cute. Kids do grow up fast.
ReplyDeleteI really love youre blog. My 2 girl start school in a week, in second and thirth grade. And yes, they grow up so fast! Here in Belgium, we had a very rainy, gray summer =(. No blue sky on the first day of school, I guess...
ReplyDeletewonderful series ♥
ReplyDeleteYou are in big trouble, Mr. Lee. Your two girls are beautiful. A lot of boys will be lining up on your doorstep anytime soon. And, hope you'd enjoy your kindergarten year Little K. :)
ReplyDeleteLovely :) I believe she's gonna do well in her new class. Cheers!

Your ability to tell a story with photos is excellent! Very inspiring work.
ReplyDeleteOh Lordy! I can't let my two 7 year olds listen to "Last Friday Night" until the Kidsbop version comes out. Far too many parts of that song I'm just not ready to explain!
ReplyDeleteSuper dooper cute pics of your baby's first day of school.

Our Blog: Double Happiness!
Wahou, that's been a while I look at your pictures on flickr and I just saw that you had a blog.
ReplyDeleteYour work is really great and IU wish I could take so cool pictures of my daughter.
I have a question on pictures like the 3 first of this serie...how do you manage to have such a light? Is it only thanks to flashes and so on or also because you choose to overexpose your picture?
Donlope01, I usually expose to the right, or tend to shoot on the hotter side. I also make adjustments when editing as well. Hope that helps : )
ReplyDeleteDid you use a flash on these photos? :)
ReplyDeleteHi Emilia,
ReplyDeleteNo flash was used on these images.
i LOVE your photos! what a great site!!
ReplyDeleteShe is so cute! I wonder how you do with the photos, they look so good! The documentation is fun. Do you edit the pictures in PS?
