Why? Why is it that every time we go out to eat, a peaceful non-drama filled meal can't be had? It always starts with that mischievous glance, the troublesome glare. Then the physical altercation...a pinch, a shove, a kick.
Then they make up and bust out into song and dance....while.....we.....eat.

Kayla had her first art exhibition today. She's been in art class for almost a year now, and was asked to select one of her favorite pieces for display, more on that later. She also got to paint her own little square on the classroom floor which I though was neat.
She gets into the zone when she's doing art.
The instructor did a little interview on camera with her, and it was so funny hearing her explain her project.
When she first brought it home, I thought it was an airplane, but there was also another small piece that went with it. Can you guess what it is?

I would have never guessed.....The little separate piece was a fish, yes a fish....that the whale was trying to eat.
Hahhah I have never, ever seen such happy and smiley girls :)
ReplyDeleteLooking at them makes me happy.

Was introduced to your blog a few months ago and can't begin to tell you how your images and stories touch my heart. We have 3 girls, but the joyful stages are temporarily m.i.a. as we make our way through the tween/teen years. Your images remind me of the happiness I loved and of the joy I know will emerge once the hormones regulate themselves. ;) Thank you for brightening our days and sharing your love, pride and joy!!!
ReplyDeleteHow adorable :) Don't stop encouraging her to do her art! My dad and sister are artists and it is one of the most amazing things to see what they create and how much happiness it brings them. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI totally thought it was a fish eating another fish! hehe Didn't get the whale though... :)
ReplyDeleteYour girls are so funny! Kristin is getting beautiful. She's like a little lady. :)
ReplyDeleteI love the title of Kayla's art piece. Such a profound meaning in those tiny words for such a simple sculpture :) I always have problems titling my art pieces. When it comes to showing the piece at a gallery, I get sooooo stuck on titles. I am still trying my hardest not to title something "Untitled".
ReplyDeleteBut I have to say, I am very glad to see a fellow painter :D
i can not get over how cute kayla is! she's going to be so creative and artistic just like daddy! daddy must be proud!
ReplyDeleteOur Kaylee is just 3 months so I cant wait until she start being creative!
