Day off

For the first time in what seems like ages, I had a Saturday off to just spend with the kiddos. Just the 3 of us. Selina is at work, no shoots, no Chinese school. Awesome. The day started off with breakfast with mom at the local bagel shop. Mom went to work and I took the kiddos to the farmers market. Came back home, and as usual, they run upstairs and wreak havoc. Kristin always seems to be the noisy one.

"WHAT TIME IS IT?????"

Then she gets ready for her big performance, which always consists of wearing her Fancy Nancy shoes and one of their many princess dresses........

and then scream and sing at the top of her lungs.

Kayla is much more of a chillaxing kind of kid.

And yes, our floor is constantly like it appears below. Strewn with random toys that they strategically place for me to step on : (

I like this drawing board from Ikea, and so do the kids. Makes for a multipurpose learning/drawing tool.

Lunch time! Lunch today consisted of fruit from the farmers market, cheese omelette, and garlic naan.

Kristin is carboholic. She loves breads, any bread, all breads. It's always the first thing she eats, and is always asking for seconds.

Kayla is the vegetarian of the family, loves fruits and veggies.

  6. Thanks Eric. Natural light is nice, except when I try to get the kids to bed early and they complain that it's still bright outside ; )

  11. Hi, there. Fantastic photos. I am trying to capture good photos of my toddler and newborn. Problem is, my indoor light condition is poor. Did you use other light compensation (higher iso, flash etc?) Your subjects are so sharp!

  12. Hi Jenn,

For this particular set, it was all natural light. I often times shoot higher ISO, as I don't mind a little grain here and there. The majority of my photos are lit though, either with speedlites, or strobes.

  13. Love them, love them all. I often whine to my husband how little time and opportunity we get to photograph our own family, and your work has lit a fire under my *ss to make sure we shoot ourselves more often. heh. I want to shoot my kid. But in a loving way.
