Getting old....

No, not the kids, well yeah, the kids too, but jeez, I feel so old now. Celebrated my birthday this past weekend and took the kids to Tahoe/Reno, and had some fun in the snow.

Always gorgeous, love the snow, hate the cold.

On the morning of my birthday, I see the kids over by the window, making hand prints on the hotel window and drawing things.

Sweetest birthday message ever.

We wanted the kids to learn how to ski this time around, so we took them to Mt. Rose for some ski lessons.

Still taking baby steps on the snow.

It was hilarious watching them go up the automatic elevator thing to go down the slope, all crouched over.

I'd say they had a pretty good time.

Living in their own little world

These two kids have a pretty wild imagination, and it seems like they think about candy and sweets a lot. I took them out to a local trail nearby our house and while we were walking, I asked them if they could live on their own planet what would it be like.

Kristin: Our planet would be called Kaykris, otherwise known as Candyland. It would be a purple planet.

Kristin: There would be no bugs.

Kayla: YEAH! Only butterflies.

Kayla: The grass would be purple. The sky is made out of cotton candy and the clouds are made out of marshmallows.

Kristin: Houses would be made out of gingerbread and cars would be made out of gummy bears.

Kristin: I would be the princess, and Kayla would be the Queen.

Kayla: Our clothes would be made out of fruit roll-ups : )

Kristin: If you steal something, you would go to jail.

Sounds like my kind of planet, where can I buy my ticket to Kaykris!

He's gonna find out who has been naughty or nice....

These two have definitely been a little on the naughty side.

Nutcracker

I can't believe Kristin has been taking ballet for almost 4 years now. Looking back at old posts, I can't believe how much she as grown.

Recital

Kristin had her first piano recital last week. She played "We wish you a Merry Christmas" and did a stellar job. Really proud of her. I have to try and figure out how to convert this video we took and upload it. She has never really had stage fright, and that night was no exception. However, it was funny to see her run up to the piano, place her notes on top, play the song, then quickly run off leaving her notes laying there. I had to tell her to go back and grab the sheets.
