9 o'clock

Kayla is on a pretty regular schedule now. She starts getting fussy right at 9pm everyday and wants to sleep. In one way it's great she sleeps early, but the trade off is that she's awake at 6am, grinding her feet into my back, and slapping my face.

Attack of the Giant Baby

Kayla is so cute now, I absolutely love this age. She knows how to ask for food, her legs and arms wave when she's excited, and she starting to sleep more soundly. Sigh.....they grow too fast.

My Pony

Kristin found her Halloween costume from last year and decided to prance around the house with her 'Pony'.

Too bad we didn't get to dress Kayla up last year. I need to start thinking of some ideas for her costume this year...

Hari is not here today

Poor Kristin....for the past 2 weeks or so, she has been telling me her best friend Hari was not at school. I figured Hari was sick so I never thought much of it until today. I asked her teacher where Hari was, and I found out that she had left the school. I felt so bad for Kristin. Fortunately she still has friends, but I just feel so bad since she tells me about Hari everyday : (

Bad Hair Day

Kristins hair is out of control, but she doesn't want to cut it.


I don't think Kayla will have that problem.

Shy

Kayla is starting to get shy around new faces. My friend Leo visited us from San Francisco today, and Kayla wasn't too happy to see him, especially during her feeding time.

I was happy to see him, a new person to photograph!

Dirty Laundry

With one child, I think we only did 2 loads of laundry a week.


With 2 kids, that changed to about 4 loads per week, with all the vomiting and dirty clothes from school.

Still Happy

Kayla is so miserable right now, but she still manages to crack a smile every once in a while.

I brought home this cupcake for Kristin. I don't think I've seen her eat this much since she recovered from her stomach flu.

Coooold

The weather has been kind of strange lately. One day it's warm, next day it rains, then the next day it's freezing. I had to bust out the Eskimo suit for Kayla.

Sharing

Kristin’s idea of sharing, is “You share with me, I don’t have to share back to you.” We were at the mall yesterday and I bought a drink. I told her I’d share with her and gave her a few sips and let her hold the cup. After she took a few sips and was no longer interested, I took the drink back. She started yelling at me “Daddy is not sharing, Daddy is not sharing!”

Pouty lips

Kayla always has these pouty lips. I think her cheeks are too big, and it causes her bottom lip to look droopy. See what I mean?

Sh*& Happens

Ugh....putting on diapers is an art. One wrong move.....and you're asking for spillage. Spillage of the worst kind. What makes it worse is that it always happens right after a bath. So what do you do? Budget bath...in the sink.

COVER YOUR MOUTH!

Ever since she had gotten over her stomach flu, Kristin started coughing again. Its a dry hacking cough and it's making her miserable. I brought her in yesterday, and her lungs sound clear so that's good. The bad news is that she's close to having an ear infection....again. Going to monitor her today to see if we need antibiotics. Pre-school is evil.

She was trying to be smart when I told her to cover her mouth. She figured coughing into a chair was the same as covering her mouth.

Fortunately she's still in a good mood.

8 months old

Kayla turns 8 months old today. I love it when they're at this age, not walking yet, not talking yet, so they can't get into too much trouble and no talking back.

Sleeping through the night

"Kayla, you need to start sleeping through the night. No more 3 AM feedings for you."

"Don't worry, we'll fill you up on solid foods tonight."

My long hair

Kristin cracks me up. After school, she runs in the house with her yellow hoodie screaming "Look at my long hair! Look at my long hair!"

Day Off

I took a day off from work today, got a chance to bond with Kayla. It's so hard trying to juggle the 2 of them at the same time, so it was a nice change of pace for me.

Afternoon in the Park

Kristin asked to go to the park again, and how can I say no to her. She played on the tractor....

Then decided to play in the water....

and Kayla enjoyed the nice weather. She sat down on the grass without crying too.
